This tool shows the location of CGIAR variety trial sites on Google Maps, and overlays a layer indicating the climatic similarity (in terms of rainfall and temperature regimes) over space from the user-selected trial site.
This information can be useful to assess the varietal spill-over potential (i.e., transferability of germplasm from the tested site to other areas) at regional scale. CIAT’s Homologue tool was used to generate the similarity layers.
