HarvestChoice | Project Support

While the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are the principal supporters of the broad mission of HarvestChoice, several other institutions and programs also provide support. Such support can be related to the development of data, methods and tools, to the performance of specific strategic studies, or to developing stakeholder capacity to use these products.

	ESRI Support for spatial data management and analysis through concessionary provision of ArcGIS software licenses, training and support, as well as selective sponsorship of geospatial events.

	Generation Challenge Programme Support for spatial analysis contributions to targeting and prioritization of commodities and traits (as part of a CIAT-CIMMYT-IFPRI consortium).

	HarvestPlus Support for spatial analysis contributions to strategic targeting of breeding and germplasm delivery activities (as part of a CIAT-CIMMYT-IFPRI consortium).

	Safe Software Safe Software Inc. is the global leader in spatial ETL (extract, transform and load) technology solutions that helps organizations solve their spatial data interoperability challenges. Through a generous software license donation, HarvestChoice is using the flexible and powerful spatial ETL toolset to support web-based data query and retrieval of HarvestChoice spatially-explicit data. This includes the ability to translate, transform and integrate spatial data in any format or application quickly and easily.

USAID
USAID support for activities linked to HarvestChoice include ex ante assessments for the Global Impact component of the Collaborative Research System Program for Integrated Pest Management – IPM/CRSP (through Virginia Tech.), crop modeling of rice systems in Asia as a contribution to USAID's biotechnology work in Asia (through IFPRI), and the development of improved regional soil databases to support crop modeling in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia (through IFPRI/University of Georgia Linkage Project).
